Martha Sielman Presents: 10 Trends in Art Quilts

Martha Sielman is Executive Director of Studio Art Quilt Associates (http://www.SAQA.com), an organization with more than 2400 quilt artist members from around the world.  Ms. Sielman’s presentation will feature artists and works from both of her new books, Art Quilt Portfolio: The Natural World and Masters: Art Quilts, Volume II, both of which will be available for purchase and signing.  This is a free program with no pre-registration required.

Colleen Plimpton Presents: Not Tonight, Deer

Colleen Plimpton’s multi-honored garden memoir, Mentors in the Garden of Life was a Finalist for the 2011 Connecticut Book of the Year in the Memoir category. Describing the presentation, Ms. Plimpton states, “Gardening in deer country demands a multifaceted approach. Included is the recipe for my never-fail deer repellent, along with other strategies for outwitting the dratted deer, including lists of deer-resistant material. We also discuss what to do about voracious voles, bodacious bunnies, greedy groundhogs, and other nefarious nabobs of the garden.”
